Role Overview
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in applying systems engineering principles to improve the design, integration, and operation of large-scale infrastructure projects. This role plays a pivotal part in optimising performance across assets, streamlining delivery, and embedding innovation throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with engineering, operations, and project delivery teams, you’ll help ensure that every system is efficient, safe, and built for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
- Apply structured systems engineering methodologies to optimise design, integration, and lifecycle performance of infrastructure projects.
- Use data analytics and modelling tools to enhance asset performance and operational efficiency.
- Identify process improvements and implement systems engineering practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support multi-disciplinary teams to define requirements and ensure seamless systems integration.
- Ensure compliance with Safety in Design and Sustainability in Design frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, project managers, and contractors to deliver robust, compliant outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing within the engineering team.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline (essential).
- Proven experience applying systems engineering principles to complex infrastructure or utility projects (essential).
- Strong understanding of systems integration, requirements management, and lifecycle engineering (essential).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering tools (desirable).
- Project management experience or certification (desirable).
- Current driver’s licence and flexibility to travel within South Australia as required.
