Opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Project Engineer to join this established and growing organisation based at their WA operation in the Perth area on a full time, permanent basis.

Growing Australian company that specialises in electrical infrastructure, such as low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) switchboards, switchrooms, motor control centres, transformers, protection systems and kiosk substations. With operations nationally they are continuing to expand and deliver to multiple sectors such as mining, construction and defence.
Role Overview
Work with the design team to review and refine work practices to bring improved efficiencies in design, construction methods and materials usage, with amore modular system/approach. Also support and develop junior engineers
About the Person
Ideally you will have 5+ years’ experience in structural design and or project engineering of steel structures. You will deliver safe and compliant and cost-effective structural designs that align with project, fabrication, and regulatory requirements as well as
provide technical leadership in structural design, ensuring integration with architectural, electrical, and construction disciplines.
Ultimately you will support effective project delivery by managing structural design, scope timelines and engaging with stakeholders to meet project requirements. Key to this role is the ability to be results orientated, detail orientated, professional and collaborative.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret project specifications, client requirements and standards to define structural design requirements and solutions.
- Perform and/or review structural analysis and design calculations to structural analysis and design calculations for steel structures in accordance with relevant Australian Standards (e.g., AS/NZS 5131, AS 1657, AS4100, AS1170).
- Review and verify structural drawings and models to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with design intent.
- Collaborate with the Engineering & Design (E&D) manufacturing, and project teams to optimise design for fabrication and installation.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical queries and design issues.
- Provide technical support during fabrication and construction, including resolving site and workshop issues.
- Review fabrication drawings to ensure compliance with design documentation and project requirements.
- Manage design documentation, revisions, and approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all structural outputs meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Prepare lifting/rigging concepts where required for transportable structures.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in the design of steel structures and/or project engineering.
- Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, AS-NZS_1170 / AS_4100.
- Experience with structural analysis/design software (Tekla, Space
Gass) - Experience in industrial, modular or fabrication environments
