Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ANI) is the owner, developer and manager of the Osborne Naval Shipyards, supporting the Commonwealth’s Naval Shipbuilding Plan. ANI is responsible designing, constructing and managing the shipyard infrastructure, including the new Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard to support the AUKUS program, and operating and maintaining common use facilities.
ANI is seeking a commercially minded and technically capable Senior Business Analyst to join its Finance team. Based in our Adelaide CBD office with occasional travel to Osborne, this newly created role is ideal for a proactive and collaborative individual with strong financial modelling skills, commercial acumen, and a passion for supporting capital-intensive projects and strategic planning. The position offers a scope for career development.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining ANI’s long-term corporate financial model and forecasts.
- Assisting in preparing the Corporate Plan.
- Supporting internal financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, particularly during peak cycles (January–June).
- Providing advanced Excel-based modelling for profitability analysis and capital return metrics (e.g. return on equity).
- Partnering with project and capital teams to deliver insights and support project reporting.
- Monitoring ANI’s cash position through forecasting equity and debt drawdowns.
- Conducting general ledger reconciliations and cost control reporting.
- Supporting improvements in internal management reporting and financial systems.
- Identifying and implementing strategies for business performance and process enhancement.
About you:
You are a confident communicator and analytical thinker with a strong foundation in financial modelling, technical accounting, and stakeholder engagement. You’re a self-starter who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment and enjoys applying your commercial expertise to drive strategic insights and performance.
You will also have:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in a capital-intensive or infrastructure environment.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion).
- Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated modelling experience.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of financial performance metrics.
- Experience working cross-functionally with project and finance teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to work across multiple ANI sites.
