Senior Automate Virtualise Infrastructure Engineer

Harrison McMillan is seeking a Senior Automate Virtualise Infrastructure Engineer to work with a Federal Government Department in their ICT Operations Support Team in Canberra.

The Infrastructure Platform team is responsible for the management of all data centers, virtualization, automation, storage, backup and restore capability. The team is also responsible for providing after-hours on-call support for the Department’s on-premises infrastructure. We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer who specialises in Automation and Virtualisation.

• Managing and developing the Department’s Aria Automation, NSX, Aria Operations and Site Recovery Manager instances as part of the Infrastructure Platforms team

• Maintaining and enhancing the Department’s VMware vSphere, Cloud Foundation environments and server infrastructure (rack mounted and blade servers)

• Produce design documents, build documents, and operations documents

• Sharing of knowledge and mentoring the junior team  

1. Experience in some or all of the following technologies:
   • Aria Automation
   • Aria Orchestrator
   • VMware NSX
   • Aria Operations
   • Site Recovery Manager
   • VMware vSphere and Cloud Foundation

2. Scripting and coding knowledge in some or all of the following:
   • PowerShell
   • PowerCLI
   • YAML
   • JavaScript

3. Ability to produce design, build and operations documents for processes and procedures

4. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and ability to work with skilled technical people

5. Experience in administering Veeam Backup and Replication

This role is planned to commence late January 2026.
