Role Overview
This role is responsible for the delivery of effective return-to-work services across operational and non-operational staff. You’ll manage complex cases, provide expert advice to senior leaders, and ensure compliance with legislative and performance standards.
You’ll play a key role in improving recovery outcomes while balancing legal, medical and operational considerations.

You’re calm under pressure, confident handling sensitive and complex matters, and highly skilled at building trust with stakeholders. You understand the realities of operational environments and know how to navigate competing priorities without losing sight of the individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex return-to-work and early intervention cases
- Develop, monitor and review recovery and return-to-work plans
- Coordinate case conferences with medical, legal and internal stakeholders
- Provide expert advice on return-to-work legislation, processes and compliance
- Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyse return-to-work data to improve systems and performance outcomes
- Represent the organisation in disputed matters when required
- Deliver training and guidance to leaders and stakeholders
- Extensive experience in return-to-work case management
- Strong working knowledge of return-to-work legislation and performance standards
- Proven ability to manage complex, sensitive matters with professionalism
- High-level written and verbal communication skill
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation capability
- Return-to-Work Coordinator certification (desirable)
- Understanding of HR or industrial relations principles (desirable)
