This is an opportunity to step into a key support role within South Australia’s specialist maternity and neonatal services, working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team delivering complex, high-acuity care to babies and their families.
The Opportunity
As a RN/M Level 2 within WABS, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care while supporting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in the operational and clinical leadership of the unit. This role combines advanced clinical practice with leadership support responsibilities, enabling you to consolidate your experience and develop further as a proficient practitioner. You will play a key role in promoting continuity of care, guiding less experienced staff, contributing to service coordination, and supporting the implementation of quality and practice improvements within a complex environment.

- Deliver safe, contemporary nursing and/or midwifery care in line with evidence-based practice
- Support the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in daily operational leadership of the unit
- Supervise and guide Level 1 nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing/Midwifery
- Assist with rostering, staffing coordination and work allocation
- Support implementation of practice changes and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain professional accountability for delegated activities and clinical standards
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members to optimise patient and family outcomes
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with a minimum three years post-registration experience
- Demonstrated clinical capability
- Strong communication, resilience and teamwork skills
- Strong passion to influence and improve models of care, with genuine enthusiasm, drive and energy.
