Provide practical people and capability support across the employee lifecycle, partnering with leaders to deliver effective HR advice, administration, and workforce processes.

About The Company

The organisation values professionalism, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, offering a supportive environment where HR practitioners can make a meaningful contribution.

Role Overview
As the People and Capability Consultant, you will provide generalist HR support across workforce management, employee relations, recruitment, and people administration. About the Person
You are a capable and organised HR generalist who enjoys working across a wide range of people and capability activities. You bring strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities. You are comfortable working with systems, policies, and stakeholders at all levels and take a practical, customer-focused approach to HR support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review position descriptions in partnership with people leaders.
  • Provide generalist HR advice to leaders and employees on policies, procedures, and entitlements.
  • Assess Requests for Personnel Services (RoPS) and liaise with relevant government departments.
  • Monitor probation periods and draft probation-related correspondence.
  • Draft HR correspondence including contract variations, acting arrangements, and allowance letters.
  • Support recruitment and contract renewal processes through the HRIS.
  • Conduct exit interviews, maintain data entry, and prepare quarterly exit reports.
  • Coordinate executive and corporate induction programs and training initiatives.
  • Manage HR administration including records management, trackers, and system reporting.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in a generalist HR or people and capability role.
  • Knowledge of public sector or government HR processes (desirable).
  • Strong written communication skills with experience drafting formal correspondence.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service focus.
