Harrison McMillan has partnered with a respected and growing commercial electrical contractor delivering major projects across the region, and we’re looking for a high-calibre Operations Manager to join our leadership team.
This is a senior, hands-on role ideal for someone who has come up through the trade, understands commercial projects inside out, and is ready to step up and make a real impact across the business.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing project delivery and supporting a team of 5 Project Managers across multiple commercial projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing procurement, programming, and project timelines
- Overseeing commercial performance, variations, and cost control
- Identifying and mitigating risk across projects
- Supporting, mentoring, and guiding Project Managers
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Contributing to overall operational strategy and business performance
This role will require occasional travel (approx. 1 day per month).
About You
We’re looking for a calm, experienced leader who can confidently manage competing priorities and bring structure to complex projects.
You will have:
- A trade qualification in Electrical (essential)
- Extensive experience in commercial construction projects
- Proven experience in a senior leadership or operational role
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project financials
- The ability to remain calm, considered, and solutions-focused under pressure
- A willingness to be hands-on and step in where needed
