About the Department
The Department for Correctional Services aims to provide a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. They are responsible for the management, rehabilitation, and reintegration of individuals in custody or under community supervision. Its mission is to enhance public safety by ensuring secure, humane, and accountable correctional environments, while supporting offenders in making positive behavioural changes. The department works closely with law enforcement, the judiciary, and community organisations to reduce reoffending and promote safer communities. Key areas of focus include offender rehabilitation, mental health services, education and vocational training, and support for reintegration into society. The department is responsible for 9 prisons and 15 Community Correctional offices across the state with a team of approximately 2000 staff.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services, the ICT Strategy & Transformation Lead will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Information & Technology Services Branch. This role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive range of centrally provided digital services, support, and initiatives.
As the ICT Strategy & Transformation Lead, you will also lead the development of the Information & Technology Services Branch's strategic and business plans, ensuring alignment with agency goals and broader government requirements. You’ll lead a team of 20+ technology specialists, be responsible for key projects including refurbishments, redevelopment and new sites plus digital transformation.
Essential Skills and Experience
- T ertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Technology or related field are essential.
- Proven leadership in managing sensitive operations and large-scale resources to meet strategic goals.
- Strong IT expertise with experience leading teams in secure, results-driven environments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across all levels.
- Senior management experience in strategic planning, performance oversight, and continuous improvement.
- Skilled in problem-solving and delivering innovative, effective solutions.
- Experience in cybersecurity governance, vendor management, and procurement.
- Led digital transformation initiatives; familiar with ITIL, TOGAF, and PMP.
- Solid understanding of SaaS, cloud services, and cyber resilience.
