Home Support Worker Belair

t's different at Kalyra

Are you caring, compassionate and looking for more than just a job? At Kalyra, we’re a community, a family and a choice to make a positive impact in people’s lives.

For more than 130 years, our dedicated team has been supporting South Australians to enjoy life as they age. As a Home Support Worker, you’ll be right at the heart of our impact. You’ll see the difference you make in every moment, big and small, and enjoy plenty of variety and the flexibility to fit your lifestyle. Be welcomed by a good-hearted and values-driven team that supports you through every challenge and win.

Your opportunity

As a valued member of our Help at Home team in Metro East , you will empower older people in our communities to live life the way they choose. Travelling between our customers’ homes, you’ll provide personalised care and social support in line with individual support plans, ensuring our customers maintain their independence, dignity, safety and wellbeing.

With kindness and compassion, you will:

  • Provide personal care, including assistance with showering, grooming, personal hygiene, dressing and mobility needs
  • Assist with daily and domestic tasks, such as household cleaning, meal preparation and shopping assistance
  • Support customers to engage in social activities, providing transportation to activities as required
  • Observe any physical, emotional and behavioural changes, and report any concerns
  • Nurture respectful, friendly and professional relationships with customers and their families
What you'll bring

You’re a compassionate, resilient and good-hearted person who deeply respects and seeks to enhance the strengths and dignity of older people. Through your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you establish and maintain professional relationships, ensure confidentiality and respect our customers’ values.

You’ll also need:

  • A reliable vehicle and current driver's licence
  • A National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • 3 x COVID-19 vaccinations and annual influenza vaccination
  • Current First Aid and CPR accreditation
  • A smartphone to access the mobile worker app

It’s not essential but we’d love it if you have a Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Individual Support or Disability. Don’t have that? Don’t worry. What matters most is that you share our values of caring, commitment, strengths, community and enabling.
