One of the SA Government Departments is seeking an experienced GIS Solution Architect to join their dynamic team.
About the Role
As a GIS Solution Architect, you’ll lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale ArcGIS solutions, translating complex business needs into secure, scalable architectures across on-prem and cloud environments. You’ll advise stakeholders, shape long-term GIS strategies, and drive best-practice implementations that integrate Esri and non-Esri platforms.
You’ll Succeed If You Have:
- Strong experience with best practice GIS ETL processes
- Proven ability to define and apply best practices for deploying the ArcGIS platform, including integration with non-Esri systems
- Solid understanding of South Australian Government security requirements and standards
- An enterprise-focused approach to GIS solution design and delivery
- Ability to validate business and technical requirements and provide clear solution options and recommendations from design through to delivery
- Experience designing and implementing innovative, impactful ArcGIS-based solutions for complex customer environments
- Expertise in defining business continuity for on-premise and cloud deployments, including security, governance, publication strategies, and custom application architectures
- Capability to translate customer system requirements into robust software architecture and design specifications
- Strong judgement and advisory skills to guide customers toward effective, creative solutions using Esri technology and content
- Experience recommending architectures, strategies, and implementation or migration approaches for Esri software
- Ability to collaborate closely with customers and partners to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows across ArcGIS enterprise and non-Esri platforms
- Experience developing multi-year, organisation-wide IT/GIS strategies to support technology change and budget planning
- Willingness and ability to mentor and guide less-experienced colleagues and technical staff
- Leadership skills to empower teams and lead implementations end-to-end, including coaching, budget and portfolio alignment, risk management, and people management
