Deputy Director, Strategy and Architecture

We are currently seeking applications for a Deputy Director Strategy and Architecture to join the Office of the Chief Information Officer at the Department of Treasury and Finance for a period up to 3 years.
 

Remuneration:   SAES-SPECIALIST – Salary Range ($170,131 - $230,151 p.a.)
 

About the opportunity:

The Deputy Director Strategy and Architecture, Office of the Chief Information Officer, provides leadership through the strategic development and maintenance of a technology roadmap for SA Government’s whole of government technology services, and enterprise architecture overview to optimise delivery of core services. The role is responsible for leading agency consultation and engagement to inform the technology roadmap, as well as supplier and vendor management to ensure SA Government’s extracts value from all contracts and is well informed of future technology trends and capabilities. The Deputy Director Strategy and Architecture is a member of the Office of the Chief Information Officer leadership team and represents the Office in agency interactions to ensure optimal design and delivery of core services.
 

About you

To be successful you will:

  • Develop and maintain a relevant technology roadmap that identifies the key priorities, risks and opportunities regarding the provision of SA Government’s whole of government technology services, in consultation with peers and SA Government agencies.
  • Develop and maintain an enterprise architectural view of the OCIO’s complex ecosystem of whole of government services to aid in the planning and implementation of key projects and initiatives, in alignment with the whole of government ICT strategy and agency requirements.
  • Liaise extensively, with the team, across SA Government agencies to determine their current and future business requirements in relation to ICT services and use these insights to inform the technology roadmap.
  • Extensive engagement with technology suppliers, industry groups, commercial research groups and other relevant sources to obtain current and future technology trends and identify how these will impact the technology roadmap and SA Government agencies.
  • Professional and regular management of key technology service providers for whole of government technology services to ensure operational effectiveness, quality of service provision and value for money.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to peers and leadership across SA Government on the progress of the technology strategy and roadmap to improve transparency, accountability and the development of trust and credibility with SA Government agencies.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders ensuring strong levels of engagement, collaboration and support for the Office’s priorities.
  • Contribute to the success of OCIO as a leader and people manager, and role model behaviour and values in line with the Public Sector’s Code of Ethics and way of working.
