Role Overview
As Chief Executive, you’ll be the driving force behind Livit’s purpose and performance. You’ll provide visible, values-led leadership across all regions and teams. Working closely with the Board, you’ll shape culture, be our voice in the sector, while keeping Livit agile and resilient through NDIS reform and ongoing change.
You’ll lead strategic planning and governance, oversee financial stewardship and operational excellence, and build strong relationships with government, sector agencies, and the community.. Success in this role looks like trust, innovation, and sustainable outcomes where client voice and human rights guide every decision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy development and execution aligned with the Board’s vision and priorities
- Provide timely, evidence-based advice on risk, policy, and new opportunities
- Strengthen governance and compliance, and prepare for sector reform
- Represent Livit in advocacy, public forums, and media
- Build trusted partnerships across government, the sector, and the community
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, provisioning, and asset stewardship
- Optimise resource use to enhance service quality and efficiency
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and accountable culture built on respect and performance
- Drive innovation and adopt practical technology, including AI-enabled efficiencies
- Lead a cohesive executive team and connect meaningfully with regional and frontline teams
- Work through complex client and family matters with empathy and professionalism

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Executive-level leadership as a CEO or senior leader in disability, health, or human services
- Deep understanding of human rights-based approaches and person-centred practice
- Strong knowledge of the disability sector, NDIS reforms, and the policy environment
- Demonstrated strategic leadership with commercial acumen in complex settings
- Experience with Board engagement on governance, strategic advice, and trusted partnership
- High-level communication, negotiation, and media representation skills
- Proven engagement with government, the sector, community, and people with lived experience
- Able to lead organisational change, innovation, and future readiness including AI
- Relevant tertiary or post-graduate qualifications such as Social Development, Business, HR, Disability Services; MBA desirable
- Resilient, with sound judgement and steady leadership through sector reform and organisational change
- Willingness to travel across metropolitan and regional communities; flexibility for some out-of-hours work
