The Mobility Transformation Portfolio is responsible for delivering SAPOL’s flagship mobility program, the Mobile Workforce Program (MWP). The MWP equips employees with personally issued mobile devices that provide full frontline operational capability, enabling greater mobility, responsiveness, and access to information in the field. This program represents a significant multi-year, enterprise-wide transformation initiative that is reshaping SAPOL’s technology landscape and future workplace. Through the delivery of modern, integrated, and user-centric technology solutions, the Branch is enhancing operational effectiveness, improving workforce mobility, and enabling next-generation policing capabilities across the organisation.
Role Overview
As the Senior Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of major ICT transformation initiatives across SAPOL's Mobile Workforce Transformation Portfolio. Working closely with Program Managers, the Portfolio Coordinator and key stakeholders, you will provide governance, reporting, communications, planning and portfolio coordination support to ensure effective program and project delivery. The role includes coordinating governance activities, facilitating stakeholder communications, supporting portfolio planning and scheduling, preparing reports and briefings, maintaining project documentation and records, and contributing to continuous improvement in project management practices. Through informed analysis and effective coordination, you will strengthen governance and support the successful delivery of portfolio priorities and organisational outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, including the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, influence project teams and executives, and prepare high-quality reports, briefings and correspondence.
- Proven experience and expertise in project coordination, project administration or Project Officer role, supporting the successful delivery of complex projects and programs.
- Strong knowledge and experience in business change management, stakeholder consultation and engagement, financial and resource administration, and project, program and portfolio management practices, particularly within a government environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the application and implementation of project management principles, methodologies and frameworks, supported by significant practical knowledge of project delivery practices.
- Well-developed analytical, research and conceptual skills, with a demonstrated ability to gather, interpret and evaluate information, analyse complex issues, identify risks and opportunities, and develop practical options and recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor, consolidate and analyse project and program data to support reporting, governance, performance monitoring and informed decision-making.
- Experience in the configuration and use of project management, collaboration and records management systems, including Project Server/Online, Microsoft Office applications (Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, JIRA, Confluence or equivalent platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, fostering collaboration and contributing to the achievement of shared outcomes.
- Proven ability to work under broad direction, exercise sound judgement and initiative, and apply delegated authority to resolve complex issues in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
- The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
- The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
- The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.
Salary
ASO6 - $105,747 - $111,854 per annum.
