About the Company
The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service supports the frontline policing and corporate operations of SAPOL through the provision of ICT infrastructure and communication platforms, operational software applications, and support services. The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high-quality ICT change programs. The Service is structured across four core pillars: Strategy, Innovation and Engagement; Program Delivery; Operational Services; and Security and Assurance. The Service extends from traditional ICT services to encompass a specialist radio and technology capability, including laser and radar calibration services.

The IS&T Support Officer is responsible for the provision of a range of administrative support functions across IS&T. This includes both general administrative duties as well as assisting with finance, procurement and human resource administration.

Role Overview
The IS&T Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the Information Systems & Technology team through the delivery of finance, procurement, administrative and workforce coordination services. Responsible for managing procurement and accounts processes, supporting financial reporting and budgeting activities, coordinating recruitment and onboarding, and providing high-quality administrative support, the role ensures the smooth day-to-day functioning of the department. Working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, the position supports effective service delivery, strong governance practices and continuous improvement initiatives across IS&T.

By providing reliable operational support, this role enables IS&T teams to focus on delivering technology initiatives and services that benefit the organisation. Through strong coordination, collaboration and process improvement, it helps foster an efficient, customer-focused and well-organised department.

Essential Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work under general direction, exercising initiative and sound judgement in the delivery of administrative support activities.
  • Well-developed analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to think laterally and apply conceptual understanding to resolve issues.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing, including the preparation of clear, accurate and high-quality reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated capability to establish, maintain and manage registers, databases and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel, Access or similar information management systems.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
  • High level of personal integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing a broad range of administrative support services, including records management, document control and the preparation of routine and complex correspondence.
  • Sound knowledge and practical understanding of administrative, financial, procurement and/or human resource practices within a government or similarly regulated environment.

  • The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
  • The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
  • The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.

Salary
ASO3 - $71,589 - $76,033 per annum.
