Copper Coast Council is seeking a Water Operations (Plumber)
to join its Infrastructure Services team. Reporting to the Team Leader Water Operations, you will deliver hands-on wastewater and septic system operations across Kadina, Moonta and Wallaroo. This is a practical operational role focused on maintaining CWMS assets, plumbing repairs and installations, site testing and chemical management to ensure safe, reliable services for the community. You will be trusted to work autonomously, respond to operational issues and participate in the on-call roster as part of a supportive, tight-knit team.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain wastewater and septic systems
- Undertake plumbing works including pipe repairs and installations
- Conduct wastewater testing, sampling and chemical handling
- Respond to alarms and participate in the on-call roster
- Maintain CWMS and stormwater assets to compliance standards
- Complete operational records, testing logs and documentation
- Support infrastructure maintenance across the region
About you:
You are a practical, safety-focused plumber who enjoys hands-on work and being part of an operational team. You are reliable, comfortable working outdoors, and able to respond calmly to operational issues when they arise. You take pride in doing the job properly and contributing to essential services that support the local community.
You will also have:
- Certificate III in Plumbing, or motivated to commence or continue a plumbing apprenticeship
- Experience in wastewater, septic or water operations (highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of WHS and chemical handling requirements
- Willingness to participate in an on-call roster and overtime as required
- Current driver’s licence
