Video Learning and Communications Manager

Harrison McMillan is seeking a Video Learning and Communications Manager (APS6 Equivalent) to work with a Federal Government Department in Canberra.

Job
The Department is a leading-edge learning and development hub for all staff working to advance Australia’s interests internationally. This team enables a continuous, career-long investment in skills and capability for all officers in Australia and overseas.

The Video Learning and Communications Manager is responsible for developing communication strategies, plans, and products to advise the Departments curriculum to target audiences. This role also includes responsibilities for drafting communications, announcements, newsletters, tweets, and outreach products across internal and external platforms, as well as producing video and photographic content to support digital learning and outreach.

Deliverables
  • Plan, design, develop and deliver communication products across platforms including the intranet, Department website, profile, learning management system, and newsletter.
  • Work with the Departments communications area to develop promotional material (including online publications) on learning and development programs for a wide audience.
  • Draft and publish content for the Department website, intranet, and presentations.
  • Work with internal clients to develop communications products, branding, and program announcements.
  • Share Department branding and uphold branding guidelines and styles across relevant learning areas.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts and instructional designers to conceptualise and product engaging video and photographic content for learning modules or as directed.
  • Managing end-to-end video production, including scripting, filming editing, and post-production.
  • Capturing high-quality photographs to support learning materials, promoting content, and internal communications.
  • Ensure all visual content aligns with Department branding guidelines and accessibility standards.
This role is based in Canberra and requires a NV1 Clearance.
