Harrison McMillan is seeking a UX/UI Design Software Engineer (Developer) at an APS 5 level to work with a Federal Government Department in Canberra.
Role
The Department's existing intranet is outdated, difficult to navigate, and lacks integration with current tools and platforms. As our agency grows and adapts to hybrid work environments, the need for a robust digital workspace has been critical. Successful modern intranets are dependent on user-centric design and a constant focus on real time, relevant content.
The Departments current SharePoint Intranet was developed when SIA was established 5 years ago and needs an update with its use, design and capabilities.
Key duties and responsibilities

Proven experience in intranet architecture, UX/UI design, and secure system integration

Deliver the project within a defined timeframe, allowing internal teams to focus on core responsibilities

Ensure the new intranet complies with government standards for data protection and accessibility

Develop a solution that is scalable and adaptable to future needs, including mobile access and integration with cloud-based services

Use approved tools and techniques for specific deployment activities

Administers the recording of activities, logging of results and documents technical activities undertaken
