Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager, IT Solutions, the role of Team Leader, IT Business Initiatives plays a pivotal role in shaping how technology drives the council's success. This is a handson leadership position where you’ll align IT projects with business goals, spark innovation, whilst building strong relationships across the council. Your team will champion project management and change management practices, support education, and lead the way in sourcing and delivering the right technology solutions. As a leader, you’ll create a people centric culture — coaching, inspiring, and empowering your team to perform at their best. By embedding best practices within our management framework, you’ll directly contribute to delivering Council’s vision for the future of the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement a business partnering strategy that aligns IT with business needs, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Establish and manage an IT Project Management Office (PMO) to standardise and oversee delivery.
- Design and deliver a change management strategy to support adoption of new systems and processes.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Contribute to long-term IT strategy and enterprise technology roadmaps.
- Develop and implement information management strategies, including data governance and digitisation.
- Model organisational values and provide a positive customer experience.
- Drive delivery of business and strategic plans, including 90-day plans and IPPs.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and review processes for efficiency.
- Monitor budgets and resources, providing regular updates to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with organisational codes, policies, legislation, and standards
