Copper Coast Council is seeking a Team Leader Civil Construction to join its Infrastructure team. Reporting to the Coordinator Civil Construction, this is a working leadership role responsible for supervising a small operational crew while contributing directly to planning, coordination and delivery of civil construction works. This role suits an experienced civil operator who can balance people leadership with hands-on delivery, quality control and forward planning.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a civil construction team of approximately 7 staff
- Allocate daily tasks and ensure work is completed safely, on time and to standard
- Monitor job progress, workmanship and site compliance
- Contribute to weekly and monthly works planning and scheduling
- Assist with project coordination and ensure projects remain on track
- Engage contractors and oversee contracted works as required
- Read and interpret construction plans and drawings
- Apply environmental and safety requirements across all activities
- Support the Coordinator Civil Construction with day-to-day operations
You are a practical, hands-on civil construction leader who understands how work gets done on the ground. You are comfortable leading crews, making decisions on site and maintaining safety, quality and productivity. You value stability, teamwork and delivering reliable outcomes for the community.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction and team leadership
- Strong hands-on machinery and plant knowledge
- Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple work programs
- Confidence using computer systems, CRM or works management tools
- Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent
- Current C class & HC Driver’s Licence
- Competency operating civil plant and equipment (desirable)
