Reporting to the Coordinator – Transport, this role is responsible for delivering expert traffic engineering services across a diverse portfolio. You will lead complex investigations, develop practical solutions, and contribute to the planning and delivery of transport infrastructure and capital works programs.
You will work closely with internal teams, government agencies, consultants, and the community to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable transport outcomes.

- Undertake complex traffic, parking, and transport investigations and provide recommendations
- Plan, prioritise, and prepare capital works programs for transport-related assets
- Lead Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) studies, including community consultation
- Provide expert technical advice to internal stakeholders, government bodies, and the public
- Review and contribute to policies, strategies, and engineering guidelines
- Develop concept designs for traffic control devices, car parks, and pedestrian/cycling infrastructure
- Support infrastructure planning, project delivery, and asset management initiatives
- Contribute to strategic transport planning and implementation activities
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Extensive experience in traffic engineering and transport planning
- Strong knowledge of traffic management, parking controls, and relevant Australian Standards
- Experience analysing traffic data and developing practical engineering solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in Office 365 and GIS systems
- Workzone Traffic Management certification (or equivalent)
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and adaptable approach
- Qualifications in Project or Asset Management
- Experience within a local government environment
- Knowledge of road networks and transport systems
