Harrison McMillan is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (EL1) to work with a Federal Government Department in Canberra.

Role

The Branch within the Information Management and Technology Division has a requirement for a suitably experienced professional to provide technical support for the departments ICT systems based on the Notes platform including HCL Notes and support Notes services including cables, directories, and visitor management

Success
  • Ensure business continuity to the departments HCL Notes Domino platform

  • Manage the Departments Domino and Notes infrastructure

  • Evaluate, test, implement and support Domino and Notes infrastructure

  • Provide advice on the security, infrastructure and overall configuration of the Domino and Notes environment

  • Develop and maintain administration tolls for maintenance of Domino servers

  • Plan and deploy product upgrades and patches

  • Ensure that production environment data and configuration is properly backed up/documented and can be restored at any point of time in timely fashion

  • Business Continuity Plan and support recovery of the system in case of data centre outages or other disasters

  • Documenting all communication and tasks performed including closing out help desk requests when completed

Essential
  • 5 years’ experience as an HCL Domino administrator

  • 5 years’ experience supporting 3rd level Notes and Domino issues

  • Experience in writing Lotus script

  • Strong understanding of Clustering, SMTP, Routing, TCP/IP

  • Proven critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills required

Desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to upskill into new and emerging technologies without technical bias

  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and then document systems and procedures where documentation has not been maintained

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain documented systems and procedures

  • Proven experience learning and developing skills in alternate technologies such as .Net, PowerShell Scripts, YAML pipelines and others

This is a 12-month contract, Onsite and based in Canberra
