Role Overview
This role will be responsible for supporting and enhancing IT governance frameworks, policies, processes and assurance activities. You will work closely with key stakeholders across the organisation to monitor risks, support governance committees and boards, coordinate audit activities and provide advice on effective IT governance practices.
About the Person
We are looking for a governance professional with strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills. You will have experience working across IT governance, risk, assurance, audit or compliance and be confident developing governance documentation, managing risk registers and working with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain IT governance frameworks and processes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of IT governance practices.
- Support IT risk management activities and maintain risk registers.
- Liaise with stakeholders regarding risk updates and governance committee actions.
- Draft and maintain governance standards, policies, procedures and terms of reference.
- Conduct research and analysis to support governance processes and reporting.
- Coordinate and track internal audit activities and actions.
- Provide advice and support to stakeholders on IT governance matters.
- Promote a culture of effective governance, risk management and continuous improvement.
- Relevant qualifications or professional certifications in governance, risk, audit, compliance, information technology or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in IT governance, risk, assurance, audit or compliance.
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, policies, risk management and assurance practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality governance documentation.
- Strong analytical and research skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to engage and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experience maintaining risk registers and coordinating governance or audit actions.
- Experience working within a higher education or similarly complex public-sector environment is highly desirable.
