Role Overview
The Senior HR Business Partner will provide expert consultancy services across a wide range of human resource functions. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll advise on complex people matters including workforce change, performance management, employee relations, and sensitive case resolution. You’ll play a key role in supporting the organisation’s workforce capability and fostering a culture of positive and compliant people management practices.

You possess a strong understanding of public sector employment frameworks and thrive in environments where sound judgement, discretion, and a solutions-focused mindset are essential. You bring emotional intelligence, adaptability, and the ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-level, expert advice to executives and managers on HR matters
- Manage complex and sensitive employee relations cases, including grievances and misconduct
- Support performance management, job design, change processes, and workforce planning
- Guide managers through disciplinary processes and industrial relations obligations
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation to support HR best practice
- Contribute to training and development on people management and compliance
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support injured and excess employees
- Extensive experience in HR advisory roles within complex organisations
- Strong understanding of public sector employment legislation and frameworks
- Expertise in managing sensitive employee relations and performance matters
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with proven ability to influence
- Demonstrated ability to analyse problems and provide innovative solutions
- High level of discretion and professionalism in dealing with confidential matters
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field (desirable)
