Harrison McMillan has partnered with a reputable construction firm in Canberra who is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to support the delivery of key projects across their Commercial and Secure Business units. You’ll play an essential role in contract management, procurement, financial tracking, and documentation, ensuring all work aligns with organisational and industry standards. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers, you will help coordinate contract execution, manage variations, and maintain accurate project records.

What You’ll Be Doing

Manage contract documents, procurement tasks, and subcontract agreements

Monitor budgets, variations, claims, and financial reporting

Track project schedules, lead times, and subcontractor performance
-
Prepare RFIs, correspondence, and project documentation
-
Support tender reviews, estimating, and budgeting
-
Coordinate quality, safety, and environmental compliance
-
Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
-
Identify and escalate project risks promptly
What You Bring
You’re organised, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced construction environment. You will bring:

6+ years' experience in a head contractor environment
-
Relevant qualifications in Building & Construction (Degree or Diploma)
-
Strong experience in construction or contract administration
-
White Card, Asbestos Awareness, and WHS Risk Management training
-
Ability to interpret contracts and navigate complex project information
-
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, values-led approach
Highly Regarded Experience
-
Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance
-
Experience using Vista by Viewpoint
-
Knowledge of Safety in Design and ABCC/OFSC frameworks

Exposure to estimating, budgeting, or subcontractor management
