Rostering Coordinator

As the Rostering Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing staff rosters across nursing, care, and hotel services within a Residential Aged Care Facility. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll ensure rosters are accurate, compliant, cost-effective, and support continuity of care. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders across care, HR, payroll, and return-to-work teams to meet operational needs and respond to changing staffing requirements.
About the Person
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organised, and experienced in rostering within a fast-paced environment, preferably in aged care. You’ll be confident working with workforce planning data, understanding industrial instruments, and supporting team leaders to ensure adequate staffing at all times. Strong communication, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, publish, and manage rosters for nursing, care, and hotel services staff
- Ensure compliance with industrial awards and enterprise agreements
- Monitor staffing levels, vacancies, and leave to ensure coverage
- Minimise overtime and agency usage through effective planning
- Maintain accurate data and support payroll processes
- Liaise with People & Culture to ensure staff compliance (e.g. clearances, registrations)
- Support onboarding and orientation of new staff
- Contribute to continuous improvement in rostering processes
- Substantial experience in staff rostering (aged care preferred)
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Award 2010 and relevant EAs
- High-level administrative and time management skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement ability
- Proficient in rostering systems and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
- Understanding of workforce planning and compliance requirements
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
