Role Overview
As a Design Manager, you will coordinate end-to-end design delivery across a broad portfolio of small to medium-sized infrastructure projects. Working across multiple concurrent projects, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient design outcomes.
Projects within this portfolio include water storage tank refurbishments, wastewater network upgrades, water treatment improvements, pipeline and pump station upgrades, electrical and control system renewals, and facility enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end design coordination across multiple concurrent infrastructure projects
- Work closely with internal teams and external delivery partners to achieve project outcomes
- Ensure designs are safe, compliant, and aligned with technical and operational requirements
- Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs across civil, mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and deliverables across a varied project portfolio
- Identify and manage risks, particularly within brownfield and operational environments
- Support effective communication and engagement with key stakeholders
- Contribute to efficient and consistent design delivery practices across the portfolio
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Degree in Civil, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience in design management within civil infrastructure projects (water sector highly regarded)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with varying scopes
- Strong understanding of design development workflows within capital delivery environments
- Experience working with designers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with utility environments and technical standards (highly regarded)
- Background in pipelines, tanks, trunk mains, or similar infrastructure (advantageous)
- Understanding of brownfield project risks and operational constraints
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
