Project Support Officer

Immediate start full-time contract opportunity for a Project Support Officer within a Financial Services team, supporting process improvement, data analysis, and project delivery initiatives.

About the Company
This opportunity sits within a large South Australian government shared services environment, supporting a centralised Financial Services function. The team plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in ensuring financial operations are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with compliance standards. Working across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Taxation Services, the team partners with internal stakeholders to strengthen processes, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement.


Role Overview
We are seeking two Project Support Officers to join a high-performing Service Delivery Support and Change team on a full-time contract basis until June 2025.

In this role, you will provide hands-on project support across a range of initiatives, including data cataloguing and time observation studies. This is a detail-focused role suited to someone who thrives in structured environments and enjoys working with data, systems, and process improvement activities.

You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional with experience working in fast-paced, high-volume environments. You are comfortable working with data, systems, and financial processes, and can manage competing priorities while meeting strict deadlines.

You bring a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project support across financial services initiatives
  • Catalogue and organise data storage systems
  • Conduct time observation studies and assist with reporting
  • Support process improvement activities across AP, AR and Taxation teams
  • Assist with data analysis and reporting requirements
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Maintain accuracy and compliance across all work outputs

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Experience in payroll, accounts payable/receivable, or financial reporting
  • Exposure to call-centre or high-volume processing environments (desirable)
  • Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage large workloads and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong numerical reasoning and analytical skills
  • Experience with systems such as CHRIS21, Basware, Oracle, Valeo (desirable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt in a changing environment
  • Experience in data analysis, research, and reporting
