Procurement & Contract Officer

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement & Contract Officer to support procurement activities, contract management and stakeholder engagement within a busy and process-driven environment.

Our client is a well-established organisation operating within a structured and complex environment, with a strong focus on effective procurement, contract management and sound governance processes.

Role Overview
This role will provide support across general procurement and contract management activities, including contract variations, tender processes, record keeping and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will be confident following established processes, exercising sound judgement and taking ownership of tasks through to completion.

About the Person
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and delivery-focused, with excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to follow established processes. You will have experience in procurement and/or contract management and be confident working independently while engaging effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Government experience is not essential, with comprehensive training available for the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support general procurement and contract management activities.
  • Manage contract variations and associated processes.
  • Maintain accurate procurement, contract and administrative records.
  • Support tender processes, including obtaining and assessing quotes from the market.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure procurement and contract processes are completed accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Provide administrative and operational support across procurement activities.
  • Take ownership of tasks and ensure deliverables are completed within required timeframes.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance are required.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and/or contract management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong ability to follow established processes and procedures.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organisational, administrative and record-keeping capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively and take ownership of tasks.
  • A delivery-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are desirable.
  • Government experience is desirable but not essential.
