Role Overview
This contract opportunity will support a large-scale systems uplift and mainframe decommissioning initiative, with a strong focus on Adabas/Natural environments. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee workload prioritisation and operational support activities, and contribute to solution design and decommissioning strategies.
The role will work closely with technical teams, project stakeholders and business units to ensure the successful delivery of project outcomes while maintaining operational stability of critical systems.
About the Person
You are an experienced Project Manager with strong expertise in Adabas/Natural mainframe environments. You are highly organised, capable of managing competing priorities, and confident leading technical teams within complex enterprise settings.
You have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, a practical and solutions-focused mindset, and the ability to provide clear technical guidance while supporting large-scale transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and oversight across Adabas/Natural services
- Support workload intake, prioritisation, governance and delivery activities
- Lead production support, incident management and root cause analysis activities
- Contribute to code reviews, solution design and decommissioning strategies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Provide expert advice regarding mainframe systems, risks and dependencies
- Maintain accurate records in line with legislative and organisational requirements
- Support operational continuity and the successful delivery of transformation initiatives
- Minimum five years’ experience managing Adabas/Natural mainframe projects
- Strong technical understanding of legacy mainframe environments and decommissioning activities
- Proven experience leading technical teams and overseeing operational support functions
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing incidents, risks, dependencies and competing priorities within complex environments
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams
- Understanding of governance, compliance and risk management frameworks
- Experience working within large or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded
- Willingness to undertake required police checks and confidentiality declarations prior to commencement
