Role Overview
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be the go-to payroll specialist responsible for managing the complete payroll function for approximately 250 employees across multiple entities. This is a hands-on role that requires ownership of all payroll activities, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.
Working closely with both Finance and HR, you will play a key role in supporting the business through your payroll expertise and ability to manage complex payroll requirements across a varied workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end payroll function across multiple entities
  • Process fortnightly payroll for approximately 250 employees nationally
  • Manage payroll for a mix of permanent, casual and timesheet-based employees
  • Ensure payroll compliance with relevant legislation, taxation requirements and company policies
  • Partner closely with HR and Finance to maintain accurate employee and payroll records
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee enquiries
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations and reporting as required
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiencies
  Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Proven experience independently managing an end-to-end payroll function
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of payroll outcomes
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements and best practice
  • Experience processing payroll across multiple employee types and entities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and strict payroll deadlines
  • Strong systems aptitude with the ability to learn and adapt to different payroll platforms
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience with Aurion Payroll will be highly regarded
  • Current National Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain one
