Nailsworth Primary School is looking for an experienced OSHC Director to take responsibility for its service and become a valued part of the school community.
This is a hands on leadership role where relationships are just as important as operations. You will support your team, connect with families, work alongside the school and make sure children have a safe, inclusive and engaging place to be before and after school and during vacation care.
You will take ownership of the day-to-day running of the service while also looking at the bigger picture. This includes developing your team, strengthening quality, maintaining strong compliance and finding practical ways to continually improve the experience for children and families.

About the Person
You will be an experienced OSHC professional who is confident stepping into a busy service and taking ownership from day one.
You know how to manage people, oversee the operational side of a service and keep things moving when there are competing priorities.
You are organised and commercially aware, but you are also approachable, practical and comfortable being out amongst your team.
You enjoy talking to people and, importantly, you enjoy working with children. You will get to know the educators, say hello to families, listen to what's happening on the ground and build relationships with the school. You understand that being a good Director isn't just about what happens on a spreadsheet or in a compliance report. It's about creating a place where children feel safe, included and excited to be, and where educators feel supported to do their best work.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor, support and develop a team of educators and support staff
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the OSHC service
- Build genuine relationships with children, families and the school community
- Be a visible, approachable and supportive presence within the service
- Support educators to deliver engaging, inclusive and play-based programs
- Drive the Quality Improvement Plan and ongoing quality improvement
- Ensure regulatory, compliance and governance requirements are met
- Manage staffing, rosters, budgets, payroll and operational priorities
- Work closely with the Principal, Governing Council and key stakeholders
- Foster a positive team culture where people feel supported and valued
- Identify practical opportunities to strengthen the service and children's experiences
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience as an OSHC Director, Centre Director or senior OSHC professional
- Strong people management and team development skills
- Sound understanding of the NQF, NQS and MTOP
- Experience managing the operational and financial aspects of an OSHC service
- Knowledge of CCS, budgets and payroll
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence working with children, families, educators and school leaders
- Strong organisation, reporting and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and relevant business systems
- Commitment to child safety, inclusion and community engagement
The successful applicant will also be required to hold or obtain all relevant clearances and certifications required for the role, including a Working with Children Check, First Aid and CPR certification, food handling certification (food safety supervision) and National Child Safety Training.
