Material Requirements Planner

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Material Requirements Planner to join a well-established manufacturing business. This role is responsible for ensuring materials are planned, ordered, and delivered to support production requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels and supplier performance.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for managing material planning activities, purchase order administration, inventory control, supplier coordination, and expediting activities. You will play a key role in ensuring materials are available on time and in full to support production operations.

You are a detail-oriented and proactive supply chain professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while building positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Run and review MRP outputs to determine material requirements.
  • Generate and manage purchase orders in line with production plans and inventory targets.
  • Monitor supplier performance and expedite deliveries as required.
  • Coordinate stock transfers between sites and manage associated transactions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and safety stock levels.
  • Analyse inventory trends and identify stock risks.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and data integrity issues.
  • Participate in supplier meetings and support supplier relationship management.
  • Process purchasing documentation, supplier confirmations, invoices, and credits.
  • Provide reporting and updates to support planning and purchasing activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in materials planning, inventory management, purchasing, or production scheduling.
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within manufacturing or FMCG environments is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of batch sizing, MOQ management, supplier expediting, and inventory control is advantageous.
  • Experience within food, beverage, or related production environments will be highly regarded.
  • Current driver's licence required.
