Role Overview  

This  12-month contract role  is a key part of the People and Culture division, providing specialist advice and hands-on support in all areas of industrial relations. The Industrial Relations Advisor will manage enterprise agreement interpretation, support bargaining processes, and guide leaders through complex employee relations matters. The position plays a strategic role in maintaining constructive union relationships and ensuring consistent, compliant IR practices across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will be a confident and solutions-focused Industrial Relations professional with extensive experience in complex, unionised environments. You will bring a deep understanding of contemporary IR frameworks, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to influence at all levels of the business. A calm, pragmatic approach and strong stakeholder engagement capability will see you succeed in this high-profile role. 

Key Responsibilities   

  • Provide expert advice on industrial relations matters, including enterprise agreements, awards, and legislation. 
  • Support enterprise bargaining processes and negotiations. 
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with unions and employee representatives. 
  • Guide leaders in managing disputes, grievances, and workplace change initiatives. 
  • Contribute to policy development and ensure compliance with workplace laws and industrial instruments. 
  • Partner with senior leaders on workforce strategy and employee engagement initiatives. 
Skills, Knowledge and Experience   

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or related discipline. 
  • Extensive experience in industrial relations within large, complex or unionised organisations. 
  • Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, modern awards, and enterprise agreement frameworks. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage negotiations, disputes, and performance matters. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills. 
  • Sound judgement and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
