Industrial Relations Advisor

  • 12-month fixed term contract supporting IR and workplace relations across the business.

Provide expert IR advice, manage complex cases, support union engagement and bargaining, and foster a fair, collaborative workplace culture.

Role Overview
The Industrial Relations Advisor role will provide expert advice on workplace and industrial relations matters, guiding leaders and HR partners through complex cases and investigations. The role will facilitate union engagement forums, support enterprise bargaining, and contribute IR expertise to key projects. This role is key to building strong relationships, driving fair outcomes, and fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture. With your expertise, you’ll help shape effective people practices that support both employees and organisational success.

The successful candidate will be a confident and strategic HR professional with strong expertise in industrial relations and dispute resolution. They will excel at managing complex workplace matters, building trusted relationships with leaders, HR partners, and unions, and fostering a fair, collaborative, and high-performing workplace. They communicate clearly, think analytically, and influence positive outcomes that balance both employee and organisational needs.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert industrial relations advice to leaders, HR partners, and stakeholders.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases, investigations, and grievance resolution.
  • Facilitate union engagement forums and ensure effective follow-up on actions.
  • Support enterprise bargaining and related projects with technical IR expertise.
  • Build strong relationships to foster a fair, collaborative, and high-performing workplace.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  •  Degree in Law or Human Resources or Industrial Relations, or equivalent level of skills and knowledge
  • 2+ years working experience in HR/IR/ER environment
  • Driver’s licence, (Class C)
