An opportunity is available for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join a complex, multi-site organisation, partnering closely with operational leaders across South Australia and providing remote support to Victorian sites.
This role is suited to a hands-on P&C professional who enjoys being close to the operation, spending time on site, building trusted relationships with leaders and employees, and supporting practical, people-centred outcomes in fast-moving environments.
About the role
You will work as a true business partner to operational leaders, providing day-to-day advice and support across the employee lifecycle. The role combines strong people management capability with an active presence in the business, including regular site engagement and time spent on the floor with leaders and teams.
While the role includes exposure to employee and industrial relations matters, the primary focus is on operational partnering, coaching leaders, and enabling consistent and effective people practices across the organisation.
The role is based in South Australia with remote responsibility for Victorian operations. Interstate travel is required periodically (approximately quarterly, with flexibility).
Key responsibilities
- Partner closely with operational leaders to support day-to-day people management and workforce needs
- Build strong relationships with leaders and employees through regular site engagement and on-the-ground presence
- Provide practical advice on performance, conduct, attendance and wellbeing matters
- Support and coach leaders to build confidence and capability in people management
- Ensure people decisions are fair, consistent and aligned to legislation and organisational policies
- Contribute to organisational change, workforce planning and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
- Demonstrated experience as a People & Culture / HR Business Partner in a multi-site or operational environment
- Strong relationship-building skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Confidence supporting leaders across a range of people matters, including ER where required
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and frameworks
- Comfortable balancing operational engagement with strategic input
- Willingness to support interstate sites remotely, with periodic travel
- A genuinely hands-on partnering role embedded in the business
