About Us
Picture a career that’s more than numbers. At the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF), we’re building a world-class Treasury for South Australia—one that’s innovative, collaborative, and future-focused.
We’re South Australia’s lead agency for economic, digital, and financial policy outcomes. Our work touches every corner of the state, from enabling frontline services to driving digital transformation. And we do it all with one purpose: to make life better for the people who call South Australia home.
The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) enables a more connected and secure government so that South Australian (SA) Government agencies can better serve our community. We do this by leading the SA Government’s technology, cyber security, and digital government strategies, as well as developing and delivering resilient and innovative ICT, digital and cyber security services, platforms, and critical infrastructure to SA Government agencies that are accessible, trusted, and secure.
Why This Role Matters
Cyber security is critical to the safe and effective operation of government. As Government Chief Information Security Officer, your leadership safeguards South Australia’s digital environment and enables the delivery of secure, reliable services and advice to the community.
You will shape the State’s cyber security strategy and direction, guide senior leaders through emerging risks, and ensure South Australia is prepared to prevent, respond to and recover from cyber threats — now and into the future.
About the Opportunity
The Government Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) leads the Cyber Security Directorate and sets South Australia’s whole-of-gov cyber security strategy. The role provides authoritative advice to the Premier, Treasurer, Ministers and senior executives on cyber risks, threats and strategic priorities, and directs the development and oversight of cyber security standards, policies and frameworks across government.
