Finance Officer

Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager Finance, the Finance Officer will provide professional financial and accounting support across the organisation and its associated entities. The role contributes to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting requirements, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and reporting
  • Process invoices, purchase orders and purchase card acquittals
  • Support month-end and year-end financial processes, including journals and reconciliations
  • Contribute to preparation of financial reports and statutory accounts
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure data integrity
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support finance operations
  • Provide administrative support to the finance function as required
  • Assist with continuous improvement of financial processes and systems
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions
  • Understanding of accounting principles and GST requirements
  • Experience working with financial management systems (TechnologyOne highly regarded)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Relevant or near-completed qualification in accounting, finance, business or similar (desirable)
  • Understanding of and ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures (highly regarded)
