Role Overview
As the Design Manager, you will take on a key leadership role, guiding and coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver accurate, timely and efficient technical outputs. You will drive the adoption of lean principles, challenge stakeholders to achieve the most effective solutions, and ensure robust design processes are followed. This role requires strong leadership presence, strategic thinking, and the ability to balance design quality, customer needs, safety, and project efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary design teams, ensuring the delivery of consistent and high-quality technical outputs.
- Develop and manage design delivery plans, ensuring milestones and project expectations are clearly communicated and achieved.
- Oversee the quality and verification of engineering deliverables, ensuring adherence to relevant technical standards.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders, providing clear communication on costs, risks, schedules and technical considerations.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, providing timely updates and managing change processes.
- Support continuous improvement of design processes, documentation templates and engineering systems.
- Contribute to a positive team culture through knowledge sharing, participation in meetings, and ongoing personal development.
