Community Partnerships Officer
Coordinate community partnerships and support local initiatives addressing key social issues within a structured development framework.
  • Lead partnership initiatives supporting key community priorities
  • Collaborate with not-for-profit and service organisations to deliver impactful projects
  • Flexible part-time (0.8 FTE) contract with hybrid work options

About the Company
Our client operates within a forward-thinking, community-focused environment dedicated to improving social outcomes through strong partnerships and evidence-based initiatives. The organisation values collaboration, inclusivity, and strategic investment in programs that create meaningful community impact.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Projects and Partnerships, the Community Partnerships Officer plays a pivotal role in coordinating and supporting partnership initiatives across a range of community development focus areas. Working within an established community partnerships framework, the role involves liaising with not-for-profit and service delivery organisations to facilitate programs that address emerging community needs such as food insecurity, mental health, or financial wellbeing. This position does not deliver direct community services or work with individual clients; rather, it enables and supports community organisations to deliver targeted initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.

About the Person
You are a relationship-driven and organised professional with experience in community development, partnerships, or stakeholder engagement. You excel at building productive relationships with community organisations and can manage projects within structured frameworks. You’ll bring strong communication skills, sound judgement, and an understanding of how to translate community needs into actionable partnership outcomes. Council experience is beneficial but not essential, what matters most is your ability to connect with diverse stakeholders and support collaborative, evidence-based projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Community Partnerships Program within an established framework.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with not-for-profit, community and service organisations.
  • Support the delivery of initiatives that respond to identified local needs (e.g. food insecurity, youth mental health, financial literacy).
  • Facilitate program delivery through effective stakeholder engagement and partnership coordination.
  • Monitor progress, document outcomes, and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and collaboration across the broader Projects and Partnerships team.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in community development, partnerships, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Understanding of program or project delivery within a structured community framework.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Experience within local government or community organisations desirable but not essential.

Culture of the business:
The team is collaborative, values-driven, and outcomes-focused. Staff enjoy working in an inclusive environment that encourages innovation, flexibility, and shared success. With a varied and supportive team structure, you’ll gain exposure to a diverse range of community initiatives and strategic projects.
