What is the unique purpose of the role?
Develop and implement project or organisational change initiatives that support the realisation of business benefits and sustainable change outcomes to enable SA Water to deliver on its strategic objectives.

Develop, coordinate, and implement change management program across relevant business projects and improvement initiatives
  • Work with the project leads and working groups to clearly identify customer, organisational and employee impacts and risks as a result of the changes being implemented.
  • Develop and lead the delivery of change management plans and activities at a project level which support SA Water’s strategic and business priorities.
  • Drive the effective delivery of change plans to meet project timelines and help drive organisational benefits.
  • Identify effective quality control and risk management systems.
  • Working with business leaders, ensure that managed change is embedded with appropriate measures and assessments undertaken to ensure change is adopted.
Coach, influence and work with designated initiative owners and their teams to help them to understand what change is required, how it needs to be implemented and when it needs to be done to align with defined initiative delivery milestones
  • Work with leaders to ensure that there is an agreed business understanding of the need for change and obtain buy-in from relevant stakeholder.
  • Ensure that sustainable change is embedded into new ways of working, behaviour and other changes and measure the success of the change.
  • Ensure that benefits are realised and by coaching and influencing leaders to follow through on their plans.
  • Coordinate the development, documentation and implementation of business processes required to support change.
Manage the day to day operational and tactical aspects of the change program and review high level deliverables
  • Lead the day-to-day aspects at a tactical level of the change management plan.
  • Work effectively with the project and business managers to ensure there is a strong linkage between technology, process and change for the program/project.
  • Develop workforce plans and training schedules in conjunction with People & Safety to support project delivery.
  • Develop training plan in conjunction with People & Safety to maximise employee adoption and usage to effectively manage resistance.
  • Implement effective quality control and risk management systems.
  • Monitor and report on the change management plans at a program/project level.
Act as a conduit for impacted teams in your area. Sustain good working relationships to support a change network across the business
  • Be a contact point (go to person) for impacted leaders/staff for guidance and direction to manage change.
  • Promote and share the SA Water’s change methodology and tools available to enable consistent approach to change.
  • Support the development of SA Water standardised change management frameworks and ensure these are adopted across the business consistently.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with Stakeholders that support the implementation of change. 
  • Sustain excellent relationships with the other change leads and process improvement leads to leverage learning across the business.
Engage with staff and develop communication plans to support program and project delivery.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and staff on the development of change plans and activities.
  • Establish change management working groups or teams where appropriate.
  • Assist in the development of communication plans both at a program and project level as required.

Knowledge, skills, and experience the role requires
Key selection criteria relevant to the role:
Foundation Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Essential/Desirable
Appropriate change management qualifications or equivalent professional experience Essential
Experience with a range of methodologies inc PROSCI , Lean, HCD, Agile Essential
Experience with change management, process, system and business implementations Essential
Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle Essential
An excellent understanding of how people go through change and the change process Essential
Superior influencing, liaison, and negotiation skills in potentially complex situations Essential
Demonstrated experience delivering benefits realisation Essential
