Role Overview
PIRSA is seeking a Senior ICT Security and Risk Specialist 2-year fixed term contract to lead and strengthen the organisation’s cyber security capability. This role is central to protecting critical systems and data, driving cyber resilience and ensuring the ICT environment remains secure, compliant and future ready.
You will lead the cyber security program across PIRSA, shaping security strategy, developing and implementing policies, and driving risk management practices across ICT operations. Working across projects and business initiatives, you will ensure secure-by-design outcomes while proactively identifying and responding to emerging threats.
The role operates at a strategic and operational level, providing expert advice to leadership, guiding decision-making, and embedding security practices across the organisation. You will engage with stakeholders across PIRSA and government, contribute to whole-of-government security initiatives, and play a key role in incident response, governance and continuous improvement of security controls.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in ICT security and risk management within complex environments
- Strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks, standards and compliance requirements
- Experience leading security programs, including policy development and implementation
- Demonstrated ability to manage and respond to security incidents and threats
- Experience conducting risk assessments and embedding risk management practices
- Understanding of security monitoring, vulnerability management and controls
- Experience providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders
- Highly developed analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication capability
- Relevant security certification or commitment to obtain

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- 2-year fixed term opportunity, 37.5 hours per week.
Requirements
- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

Remuneration
ASO7 - $112,163 – 121,246 per annum, plus superannuation
