ASO7 Principal Cyber Security Specialist

We are currently seeking applications for a Principal Cyber Security Specialist to join the Office of the Chief Information Officer at the Department of Treasury and Finance on a 2-year fixed term.
 

Remuneration:   ASO7 – Salary Range ($108,109 - $116,864 p.a.).
 

About the opportunity:

The Principal Cyber Security Specialist contributes technical ICT and security expertise to the design and delivery of projects and initiatives that support the modernisation and transformation of government services through accessible, simple, and secure solutions. The Principal Cyber Security Specialist works across a range of security initiatives within the Cyber Security Directorate, including assisting in the design and delivery of Cabinet approved, whole of government, security projects.
 

About you

To be successful you will:

  • Maintain a current understanding of emerging security threats by monitoring a range of industry information sources and networks and incorporating this knowledge into the security management of the government environment.
  • Coordinate with other state and commonwealth government agencies when required to report and review cyber security initiatives.
  • Design and document cyber security processes, procedures, guidelines and solutions.
  • Provide security expertise to aid the design and delivery of projects and initiatives that support the modernisation and transformation of government services through accessible, simple and secure solutions.
  • Provide technical cyber security expertise to aid the department in meeting its responsibilities as the lead agency for cyber security and as the Control Agency for Cyber Crisis under the South Australian Emergency Management arrangements.
  • Continually improve the level of general awareness and knowledge of cyber security, change control and access-control matters by contributing to training courses and providing advice to committees, meetings, managers and individual staff, as required.
  • Undertake or participate in investigations into activities that breach security standards and policies, including advice and proactive communication to relevant senior stakeholders.
  • Additional duties may include providing support to technology investigations in the form of computer evidence seizure, computer forensic analysis, data recovery and network assessments.
