About the Company
The Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service supports the frontline policing and corporate operations of SAPOL through the provision of ICT infrastructure and communication platforms, operational software applications, and support services. The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high-quality ICT change programs. The Service is structured across four core pillars: Strategy, Innovation and Engagement; Program Delivery; Operational Services; and Security and Assurance. The Service extends from traditional ICT services to encompass a specialist radio and technology capability, including laser and radar calibration services.
Program Delivery is accountable for the successful delivery of business outcomes from a large portfolio of projects. It contains both project delivery accountability as well as portfolio governance responsibilities to manage quality, risk, and budget to optimise outcomes from the portfolio as a whole. SAPOL is undertaking a large complex portfolio of work across a range of areas including core infrastructure, business systems and digital transformation initiatives.
This full portfolio has been broken into key sub-portfolios to deliver on the business outcomes including the Mobility Portfolio, in which this position is located.
The Mobility Portfolio is responsible for the delivery of 2 flagship Programs; the Mobile Workforce Program (MWP), which is focused on delivering personally issued mobile devices provisioned with full frontline capability, and the Digital Workforce Program (DWP), which will rollout digital innovation across SAPOL. Together, these programs represent an enterprise multi-year technology transformation program that will usher in SAPOL’s future workplace and deliver IT solutions for next generation policing.
Role Overview
The Senior Developer will use their strong technical background to design, build, and support secure, high quality software solutions within SAPOL’s information systems environment. Working collaboratively across IS&T teams, they will ensure business, security, and architecture requirements are met while delivering well structured, scalable, and maintainable code. The role includes developing and integrating K2 workflows and applications, implementing robust testing practices, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring seamless integration between front end components, RESTful APIs, and backend services. With advanced analytical and communication skills, the Senior Developer will troubleshoot complex issues, partner closely with business analysts and UI/UX designers, and maintain high standards of performance, reliability, and documentation.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience with K2 development or similar workflow automation platforms.
- Strong understanding of workflow automation, form design, and SmartObject or equivalent architecture. Proficiency in C#, JavaScript, SQL, and HTML/CSS.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to interpret information, analyse complex business problems, and propose practical application based solutions.
- Demonstrated experience applying secure coding practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce technical documentation.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under broad direction, exercising sound judgement, responsibility, and decision making aligned to organisational policies and procedures.

- The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.
- The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
- The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.
Salary
ASO6 - $98,478 - $104,165 per annum.
