Role Overview
This contract role provides hands-on finance and administrative support within a busy insurance team, helping to manage claim settlements, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash processes. Working in a fast-paced government environment, you’ll play a key role in ensuring claims and payments are processed accurately, while liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and legal representatives to support the timely closure of cases.
About the Person
You are a detail-oriented and reliable finance professional with experience in transactional roles such as accounts receivable or payable. With a proactive mindset and strong communication skills, you’re able to build relationships quickly and work effectively under pressure. Ideally, you bring some exposure to insurance or claims environments, along with relevant finance qualifications and a commitment to accuracy in everything you do.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing claim settlements and insurance payouts
- Managing accounts receivable invoicing and payment follow-ups
- Supporting cash management and reconciliation activities
- Liaising with key stakeholders, including legal representatives
- Assisting in closing off claims and maintaining accurate records
- Providing general administrative support to a busy team
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or transactional finance
- Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, or similar
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Confident communication skills and ability to build relationships quickly
- Proactive, reliable, and able to manage workload in a fast-paced environment
- Exposure to insurance or claims administration (highly regarded)
