There is now a rare opportunity to join this organisation in the Executive position of General Manager, Services, Research and Education.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and as its name suggests, the role is dedicated and accountable for funding and delivering the highest quality of cancer research, raising cancer awareness through education, strategically advocating for the screening programs, and supporting people affected by cancer by delivering supportive accommodation and other support and information services to the community.
The General Manager will provide a high level of support to the Chief Executive and focus on driving key objectives including advancing the organisation’s cancer prevention, research, support, advocacy and policy agendas, coupled with the leadership around the continuous development of the organisation’s standing and impact in the broader community. With five direct reports, the General Manager will develop the strategic plan, and also be accountable for the successful implementation of the organisation’s vision, statement of purpose, guiding principles, values, and overall objectives.
The General Manager will be experienced reporting at Board level and operating as an Executive within an organisation. Well credentialed and knowledgeable in cancer control, the ideal candidate will also possess an understanding of research and tobacco in particular as well as experience engaging with stakeholders at ministerial and federal government levels. As a strong leader of people the General Manager will demonstrate a strong capacity to cultivate a highly collaborative and effective culture throughout the organisation.
