The Essential Services Commission is looking for a professional, driven and capable leader to join the executive team in the position of Director People and Corporate. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, People and Corporate will provide a high level of professional leadership, management and advice across the Commission on all corporate issues, with a focus on people and culture.
You will have a strong understanding of the relationship between people, wellbeing and performance and value a culture that promotes the importance of accountability for outcomes while maintaining flexibility.
You will be accountable for the development and delivery of wellbeing strategies and programs, including the continued development of a professional, resilient and highly collaborative culture, as well as for the design, delivery, implementation and evaluation of the Commission’s workforce, finance, risk, information technology, industry licensing and administration functions.
Together with your team, who you will lead and develop, you will provide corporate support to the Commission’s regulatory and advisory teams to enable and facilitate the achievement of the Essential Services Commissions Strategy and Performance Plan.
High levels of internal and external stakeholder engagement will be expected from this executive position, with the ability to forge and maintain strategic relationships.
You will have and exercise sound professional judgement in decision making and be open to innovation and creative thinking. You will be suitably qualified and motivated to join a team that is keenly focused on protecting South Australian consumers’ long-term interests.
The Commission adds long-term value to the South Australian community by meeting its objective through independent, ethical and expert regulatory decisions and advice. We are a statutory authority established as an independent economic regulator and advisory body to protect the
long-term interests of South Australian consumers with respect to the price, quality and reliability of essential services.
The role of the Commission incorporates licensing, consumer protection, service standards, pricing, monitoring, compliance and public reporting in the water, electricity and gas industries, and access regulation of essential ports and rail infrastructure. The Commission also provide advice and conduct inquiries to inform the South Australian Government on economic and regulatory policy issues.
