ASO7 Cloud Services Engineer

Join the Office of the Chief Information Officer at the Department of Treasury and Finance on a 2-year fixed term as a Cloud Services Engineer.
 

Remuneration:   ASO7 – Salary Range ($108,109 - $116,864 p.a.).
 

About the opportunity:

The Cloud Services Engineer is accountable to the Deputy Director, Strategy and Architecture for the technical leadership within the Cloud Services Operations team. The position will contribute to the technical development of technology roadmaps; evaluating, developing and implementing new and enhanced services; identifying, developing and reviewing technical designs for new and existing cloud ICT infrastructure and services which contribute to the achievement of improved services for SA Government agencies. The position will also provide expert guidance associated with Identity Management including designing, configuring and managing of Azure Active Directory, experience in managing and supporting Azure AD Connect Sync Server, Integration of third-party applications leveraging single sign on capabilities and identify and resolve Azure AD identity and user permissions including Sync Server Issues. The Cloud Services Engineer also provides specialist advice and support to customers across the SA Government as well as build relationships with government and non-government stakeholders.
 

About you

To be successful you will:

  • Provide technical leadership in the deployment of Multi-Cloud solutions, including but not limited to Azure, AWS and Oracle Cloud, network infrastructure and applications.  This leadership ensures project and operational outcomes are delivered successfully across the State aligning with agency and business needs and State Strategic Plan.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents assigned to the Cloud Services team within agreed service level time frames. Coordinate the recovery from system outages that involve complex system restoration. When appropriate, escalate incidents to other teams within the Office of the Chief Information Officer, the business or to third-party support providers.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to existing Cloud Services team members by proactive collaboration and information exchange promoting a culture of high performance, teamwork and customer service to ensure key objectives are met.
  • Initiate, implement and review operational processes and procedures to ensure compliance and the achievement of the teams’ objectives.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of across-government cloud service solutions through the provision of professional and specialist advice to a wide range of customers with varied needs and requirements.
  • Significantly contribute to the coordination, development, implementation and monitoring of Operational Services. Contribute significantly to the development, implementation, monitoring and review of ICT roadmaps utilising an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management Framework.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with ICT suppliers and key technical stakeholders ensuring strong levels of engagement, collaboration is achieved, and the highest level of customer service is provided to SA Government Agency users.
  • Contribute to and support internal and external audit processes.
  • Participate in briefings and discussion papers and provide expert advice on emerging issues with services supported across the Cloud Services portfolio.
  • Facilitate the implementation of organisational improvement initiatives, ensuring commitment to continuous improvement, the achievement of quality standards in business and performance and monitoring against corporate requirements .
